God humbled Himself and took on human flesh to bridge the gap between God and man. He "set aside His glory so that he could identify with man and He accepted the limitations of infancy"* so that we could get back what Adam lost in the Garden of Eden.
On that starry night in Bethlehem, the biggest thing God ever said was in the cry of that baby boy. He said "I LOVE YOU" to the world.
CHRISTmas is spelled L-O-V-E.
"For God so LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believed in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
The words to one song keep coming to my mind this morning:
He became sin that knew no sin
That we might become His righteousness
He humbled Himself
And carried the Cross

A star lit the way to the manger....God's own Shekinah Glory! He has been lighting the way to Jesus since time began. We could not find Him on our own. We would not seek Him on our own. He pursues each of us. Max Lucado calls Him The Hound of Heaven.
Heaven came down on that first CHRISTmas morning and love was born in a tiny baby in a manger. Today, CHRISTmas 2008, the greatest gift of all...a gift for all mankind...a gift for all seasons....can be yours for all eternity. All you have to do is receive it.
