"For God so LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Familiar words. The Greatest Gift. Eternal Life. Our lifeline. But notice the key word. The key word is LOVE. God GAVE out of His LOVE for us. He loved us so much that He gave His only Son to die for you and me. He paid our sin debt so we didn't have to. Not that we deserved it. We didn't. We never could. Not that we could ever possibly earn it. We couldn't. He did it out of LOVE.

God's love is not like our love. Most of us love in one of two ways. We either love with "candy love" or "smack love". Candy love says I'll love you "IF". Smack love says "You better love me or else!"

God just loves.

Most of us say "I'll love you until...."

Until you hurt me....
Until you disappoint me....
Until you fail me....
Until you let me down....
Until you don't measure up....

God just loves.

He loves immeasureably - there are no limits to His love.
He loves unconditionally - no matter what...no strings attached.
He loves infinitely - there is no end to His love...EVER!

Want to see a picture of God's love? Take a look:

Love is patient
Love is kind
Love does not envy
Love is not boastful nor conceited
Love does not act improperly
Love is not selfish
Love is not easily provoked
Love does not keep a record of wrongs
Love finds no joy in unrighteousness
But rather rejoices in the truth
Love bears all things,
Believes all things
Hopes all things
Endures all things.
Love never fails.
(I Cor. 13: 4-7)
In Max Lucado's newest book "3:16", he writes:
"Mark it down. God loves you with an unearthly love. You can't win it by being winsome. You can't lose it by being a loser. But you can be blind enough to resist it. 'Take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights!' " (Eph. 3: 18, 19 MSG)
What amazing love!! Bask in that love today. Then pass it on to those around you. In all of your relationships, strive to love like that!
